Springtime means several things: time to garden, more sunlight, fewer days that require socks, and, obviously, lighter wines. As I kick off the season of Pinot Grigio, Prosecco, Vinho Verde, and rosé, let me offer a recommendation for your own springtime libations: Fausti Sangiovese Rosato, a rosé made from 100 percent Sangiovese grapes (P.S. it's organic) grown in the Marche region of Italy. A berry flavor shyly emerges in this perfectly crisp quaffage. It is springtime in a bottle and seems to want a plate of hard cheese and bread nearby. Fausti Sangiovese Rosato (on average $10) is available locally at Divine Wine Emporium in East Lyme and SeaSide Wine and Spirits in Old Saybrook. (A place that deserves its own tip; stay tuned.)
