VIDEO: Cash deposits but no apartment

Kate Kennedy pals around at home with her son, Calvin Kilgore, 7, as she prepares dinner early at their apartment in New London Thursday, April 19, 2012. Kennedy currently works three jobs, seven days a week to make ends meet.

Zane Megos and his lawyer, Harry Traystman, sat down for an interview with the Day on Tuesday, May 1, but refused to allow video or audio taping.

Nine people, since 2009, have claimed they paid Megos nearly $25,000 in cash deposits and rent for apartments they were never to live in. In some cases the buildings had been condemned.

Here is the story of some of those people.
