The Connecticut Sun open the preseason tonight at Mohegan Sun Arena, versus the New York Liberty at 7 p.m.
Connecticut has much of its roster solidified, although coach Mike Thibault will use the preseason to watch several hopefuls.
Among the players trying to make the roster: Guard Dawn Evans (James Madison); forward Stefanie Murphy (Boston College) and forward Chay Shegog (North Carolina).
The Sun, who tied for the second-best record in the WNBA last season, will play Thursday at home vs. Maya Moore, Lindsay Whalen and Minnesota.
They'll close the preseason at Washington May 14 before the season opener May 20 in New York.
The Sun's home opener is May 21 vs. New York at 5 p.m.
