With reference to your editorial of April 29, "Mass transit finally getting on track." While I am sure it is admirable to think of having a rail station and commuter stop in Niantic, it would be more admirable to have a grocery store. The town supported two groceries years ago, and one person seems responsible for driving out the last two recent ones.
Niantic must be the only village on the coast without a grocery, therefore visiting a hardship on elderly and necessitating owning a car. A poor state of affairs, indeed.
