Sometime between our morning trip to Stop & Shop and our afternoon trip to Target this weekend, Little Lady learned some crazy baby skills. You know when your baby reaches that point where taking them shopping with you is such a challenge? Yeah, that happened. From morning til afternoon, that happened.
I was getting something off the shelf, I don't know, maybe my back was turned. I'm not really sure. I don't keep my eyes glued to her because she just sits so happily and is content just hanging out. So, whatever, I grabbed some bread or something, and next thing I know she has stood up, turned around and is cart surfing. What the H-E-DOUBLEHOCKEYSTICKS?!!???!! I put her back down on her tushie and before I can even get moving again, she is back up. Like she'd been doing this her whole life, no big whoop.
So, a couple of things. First, sooner or later I am going to have to come to terms with the fact that Little Lady is going to do EVERYTHING much sooner than Little Man did and much sooner than I think any baby should be doing said things.
Second, I absolutely do not think this is a "second baby wanting to keep up with big brother" thing. I think this is a baby with a crazy, "don't tell me I can't do something" attitude. This could prove to be interesting down the road.
Third, due to this attitude, it is safe to say Little Lady has already incurred more injuries in eight and half months than Little Man has in his two and a half years. She has NO QUALMS about trying things, knowing damn well that she can't. Ehh, if she gets hurt, no big deal.
Lastly, in light of the above revelations, I think I might be calling Little Lady "Animal" henceforth.
