Lyme — One final public meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday on the $4.7 million Town Hall expansion and Lyme Public Library construction project.
The meeting will take place at Lyme Consolidated School. The project will go to a referendum on May 22 at the Hamburg Fire Station. Polls will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Town Hall portion of the project includes restoration of what was once a church built in the 1870s. A 2,500-square-foot addition would include additional office space, technology improvements and a larger vault for safe record storage. The remodeled building would meet ADA requirements.
A brand-new 6,800-square-foot library/community center would be built to replace the existing library.
At least $1 million would be raised through donations and grants. If residents vote in favor of the project, construction would begin in the fall of 2013.
