Hot Property: 'Glee' stars close enough for a duet

In a "Glee" two-step of sorts, stars Lea Michele and Kevin McHale became Los Angeles-area homeowners last month within a day of each other.

Michele, who plays aspiring soprano Rachel Berry, bought a bungalow in Hollywood for $1.4 million.

The one-story house, built in 1920, sits behind tall hedges and has a gated driveway. The updated home features French doors, an office, attic space, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. An outdoor dining pavilion includes a kitchen. A swimming pool sits in the backyard.

Michele, 25, has starred on the series centered on a high school show choir since it began in 2009. She will voice the part of Dorothy in the animated film "Dorothy of Oz," due out this year.

McHale, who plays paraplegic Artie Abrams, bought a house in the Hollywood Hills for $1.025 million.

The Midcentury home features a tall entry leading to a combined living and dining room with vaulted ceilings and city and hillside views. A wall of windows opens to a deck on the main level of the more than 2,000-square-foot house.

The kitchen features red cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances, plus an island/bar with seating. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors open to a fenced lawn off the master bedroom suite, which has a sitting area. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

McHale, 23, was a member of the boy band NLT and is an accomplished dancer.

Justin Lin, who directed the "Fast and the Furious" films, has bought actor-director-producer Vincent Gallo's penthouse in downtown L.A. for $2.6 million.

The four-level loft features exposed brick walls, floating staircases and an in-unit elevator. There are two bedrooms and 2 { bathrooms in the 4,300-square-foot open-plan space. Three outdoor living areas add 3,100 square feet of space.

The penthouse in the former National Biscuit Co. building was once leased to actor Nicolas Cage.

Lin is working on "The Fast and Furious 6," which is planned for release next year.

Gallo starred in such independent films as

"Essential Killing" (2010) and "Tetro" (2009) and will star this year in "La Leggenda di Kaspar Hauser."

Public records show he bought the property in 2009 for $2.34 million. Gallo put it on the market in February at $2.599 million.

Music producer Terry Lewis and his wife, Indira, have listed their Malibu estate for sale at $4.5 million.

The one-acre property includes a Spanish-style house, open and covered patios, a sports court, a swimming pool with a spa and gardens. The 6,710-square-foot open-plan home, built in 2001, includes a media room, five bedrooms and 5 { bathrooms. The ocean-view master suite features a sitting area and two walk-in closets.

Lewis is part of a songwriting and production team with Jimmy Jam. The Grammy-winning Jam and Lewis have produced hits for singers including Janet Jackson, Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey. They are working with Usher on a new album.

The Lewises, who own another house, are selling this one to move closer to their children's schools and activities.

Public records show the couple bought the property in 2002 for $3.4 million.

Timothy Regler, an executive producer with "Judge Judy," has put his house in Studio City on the market at $4.495 million.

The Mediterranean-style home, built in 2006, sits on a knoll in the Fryman Estates area and backs up to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. The 5,454-square-foot home, which has an Old World ambience, features five en suite bedrooms, two additional bathrooms, a wine cellar, four fireplaces, a den, a family room and an elevator. The third-acre lot includes a swimming pool and a patio fireplace.

Regler is selling because he's ready to downsize. He has also worked on "The People's Court."

Public records show he bought the property in 2007 for $3.409 million.

The West Hollywood home of actor Alan Sues, who portrayed several wacky characters on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" starting in the late 1960s, is listed at $1.175 million.

The Spanish-style house, built in 1927, is entered through a gated courtyard with a fountain. The 1,830 square feet of living space includes a wood-beam ceiling in the living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The backyard contains a koi pond, a gazebo and a brick patio.

Sues, who died in December at 85, also appeared onstage and in film. His credits span more than five decades and included parts in the movies "The Americanization of Emily" (1964) and "Snowballing" (1984). He had owned the house since 1970.
