The Wildcat Invitational golf tournament tees off for the 40th time today.
And Norwich Free Academy coach Bob McPhail is back for his 40th year to run the event.
"When I started this I had no idea having it would reach any length like this," McPhail said. "It's been fun."
As always, a competitive field is expected to battle it out at Norwich Golf Course.
Defending champion Glastonbury is the favorite. Woodstock and Windham are contenders and host Norwich Free Academy is a team to watch.
"It's going to be very competitive," McPhail said. "There are some very good schools."
Tee times are as follows: 9 a.m. — Bacon, Killingly, Plainfield; 9:30 — Rockville, Stonington, Xavier; 10 — East Catholic, Putnam, Tourtellotte; 10:30 — Glastonbury, Montville, NFA Red; 11 — Norwich Tech, Rocky Hill, St. Bernard; 12 — Fitch, Northwest Catholic, Berlin; 12:30 — NFA White, RHAM, Windham; 1 p.m.— East Lyme, Griswold, Marianpolis; 1:30 — NFA Blue, Waterford, Woodstock.
