Sun drops exhibition finale to Washington 83-64

Crystal Langhorne had 18 points and 13 rebounds as the Washington Mystics defeated the Connecticut Sun 83-64 in an exhibition game Monday night in which the Sun were outrebounded 40-26.

It was the final exhibition for the Sun, who finished the preseason 1-2, while playing a variety of players to try to pare down the final roster.

The Sun open the regular season against the New York Liberty at 4 p.m. Saturday at Madison Square Garden. The two teams will play again the following day at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Asjha Jones led Connecticut in scoring with 17 points and Kara Lawson had 12 points, four assists and four rebounds. Allison Hightower also had 12.

Monique Currie led Washington with 19 points.

• Members of the Connecticut Sun will greet customers and sign autographs at three local Dunkin' Donuts locations from 10-11 a.m. Thursday.

Two players each will appear at the Groton location on Long Hill Road, the Montville location on Route 32 and the New London location on Colman Street.
