Ledyard / Gales Ferry, CT – May 18th, 2012 – Sprigs & Twigs Inc. announced today that they have selected a winner for their $500 scholarship. Caitlyn Dollard, a Senior at Fitch Senior High School, was chosen, in part, for her essay about her love for the environment, chemistry, art, and how those things, combined with the loving support and encouragement from her family and teachers, contribute to her desire to study Landscape Architecture.
“Over the years, we have had a strong relationship with area high school and college students. Each year we encourage a promising high school student to get involved in the horticultural field and help make a difference our industry and the environment”, said Linda K. Lillie, President of Sprigs & Twigs, Inc.

Linda has more than 30 years of landscape design experience and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Botany from Connecticut College. She is also a graduate of the University of Connecticut Master Gardener Program. Bill, a Certified Landscape Professional (CLP), has a Master’s
degree in Mechanical Engineering; his specialties include project management, rainwater management and landscape installation. Linda and Bill, along with two
other Sprigs & Twigs employees are Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals by the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA).
