Fifty years ago on May 18, Carol and Brian Rogers of Mystic were married by Brian's father, the Reverend Albert N. Rogers. Through the years, the couple and their children made their home in Herzogenaurach, Germany; Salem, W. Va; Middletown, where Brian worked at Wesleyan University; and in Mystic, when Brian was named College Librarian at Connecticut College. He retired in 1999. Carol was a top realtor in the area, retiring from full-time work at Pequot Properties in 2002. Today, both are involved with the Custom House maritime library in New London.

Music -- choral music in particular -- has been a leitmotif throughout their lives. They have sung together in choirs, a madrigals group in the 1970s, the Hartford Chorale, the Berkshire Choral Festival and the Stonington Choral Society. Brian performed with the Mystic Highland Pipe Band.

Their children (Amy, Paul and Alison), their children-in-law (Ari, Clare and Robert) and their grandchildren (Jake, Abigail, Theo and Lucy) join Brian and Carol's extended family, neighbors, friends and colleagues in wishing them love and congratulations.
