The 147th Harvard-Yale Regatta takes place today on the Thames River in New London.
The race, the nation's oldest intercollegiate sporting event, begins at 4:45 p.m. and finishes downstream at the Gold Star Bridge. The freshman and second varsity races precede the main event at 3 and 3:45 p.m., respectively.
Harvard, led by veteran coach Harry Parker, has won five straight races, and has beaten Yale 12 of the last 13 years.
