Groton — City police today arrested a 31-year-old man who they said robbed a local Cumberland Farms of money and cigarettes late Monday night.
Jonathan Grant, of 189 Hynes Ave., was charged with third-degree robbery and sixth-degree larceny.
Police said the robbery occurred shortly before 10:55 p.m. Monday. No weapon was used during the crime, and a clerk at the Mitchell Street store was uninjured.
Police said that Grant fled the store in a gold-colored sedan and that his vehicle was later located off Poquonnock Road. The patrol and detective divisions then developed additional information that led to Grant’s arrest.
He was held on a $10,000 bond and appeared today in New London Superior Court.
