New London — The U.S. Coast Guard Academy will pay tribute to the Army June 14 for the service’s 237th birthday.

The academy will raise the Army’s flag for the day and play the service’s anthem after morning colors. Military members are invited to join in the observing of morning colors on the front steps of Hamilton Hall. The commemoration is part of a new initiative at the academy to mark the birthdays of the different U.S. Armed Forces.
