Middletown — Chris Corum-Giles broke a 4-4 tie with a two-out, two-run triple in the sixth inning as third-seeded Fitch rallied to defeat No. 24 New Canaan 6-4 and win the CIAC Class L state baseball championship Saturday afternoon at Palmer Field.

It was the fourth state title for the Falcons, the last one coming in 2005.

The Falcons trailed 4-3 entering the sixth and did all of their damage with two outs.

Shawn Nadeau went the distance for Fitch, allowing only four hits.
