Hike from Bluff Point rescheduled

A hike from Bluff Point State Park across Groton town- and state-owned open space has been rescheduled for Saturday.

The hike is 5 to 6 miles long and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. From Bluff Point hikers will traverse at a moderate pace over the moderately difficulty properties of Haley Farm State Park, Groton's Mortimer Wright Preserve, Groton Open Space Association's The Merritt Family Forest, Groton's Beebe Pond Park, Avalonia Land Conservancy's Moore Woodlands, ending at the town's Beebe Cove.

The Town of Groton's Park and Recreation Department will provide return transportation to the Bluff Point parking lot. Bring a snack and beverage. Heavy rain cancels (no rain date). Sponsored by Connecticut Forest & Park Association, The Groton Open Space Association, Avalonia Land Conservancy and the Town of Groton's Parks and Recreation Department (www.grotonrec.com, for a map).
