Norwich police investigate shooting

Norwich — Police are investigating what appears to be an accidental shooting that occurred Tuesday night in a Garfield Avenue home.

Police said at 8:54 p.m. they responded to 12 Garfield Ave. for a report of a victim of a gunshot wound.

Police said the shooting appeared to be the result of an accidental discharge.  The unidentified 32-year-old female sustained a single, non-life threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen and was taken to the William W. Backus Hospital for treatment.
