I commend The Day for its top of front page coverage, "Court nixes nuke waste store rule," (June 9), of questionable "nuke waste" storage like that at our Millstone plant.
Our government spent $15 billion in Sen. Reid's Nevada to build a repository, Yucca Mountain, to take our Millstone depleted waste fuel.
I ask The Day to urge the NRC to transport all Connecticut spent fuel currently in cask storage to Yucca Mountain.
It cannot be argued that such storage at more than 100 individual reactor sites would be safer than transporting all existing casks to Nevada for storage in our $15 billion hole in the mountain.
