Ringo Starr has now had so many editions of his All-Starr Band - 12, if you're counting - that it would be fun to have fans vote on an all-star band selected from the collective members of all the All-Starr bands.
The lastest edition of the group, which comes Sunday to the Mohegan Sun Arena, features the ex-Beatle along with guitarists Steve Lukather (Toto) and Todd Rundgren, keyboardist Gregg Rolie (Santana, Journey) and bassist Richard Page (Mr. Mister).
Starr will do a few of the Beatles tunes he sang on, solo hits, and stuff from this year's "Ringo 2012" album. Interspersed will be hits associated with various members of the current band. Yes, then, you'll probably hear "Broken Wings."
While I'm amused by the idea of an all-star All-Starr band, the Mark V lineup, with Procol Harum's Gary Brooker, Cream's Jack Bruce and Rundgren, is pretty hard to argue with.
