Paul Martinez resigned as the St. Bernard School baseball coach on Wednesday.
Martinez, who coached just one season, led the Saints to a 14-6 record during the regular season, a share of the Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division title and a berth in the quarterfinals of the Class S state tournament.
"I want to thank St. Bernard for the opportunity to coach the baseball team this spring. I enjoyed my time at St. Bernard and look forward to the program having continued success," Martinez said in a statement.
A search for a new coach will begin this summer.
"I would like to thank Paul for his commitment to the Saints baseball program, and I look forward to the program moving in a positive direction next season," athletic director Brendan Case said.
