Medical leave law discussed

The U.S. Department of Labor will host a free webinar at 2 p.m. Wednesday to help workers and employers understand the Family and Medical Leave Act.

The department also has prepared a 16-page booklet that answers common questions, available at http://www.dol.gov/whd/fmla/employeeguide.htm.

"Too many workers don't know about their rights under the FMLA and fail to take advantage of its protections," said Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis. in a statement.

The webinar will give workers and employers a chance to submit questions that will be answered by an FMLA expert. Workers and employers who wish to participate can register at http://s.dol.gov/T2.
