Salem - The canopy over the fuel pumps at the Henny Penny convenience store on New London Road partially collapsed in the torrential rainfall that crossed the region this morning, police said.

State police in Colchester said that there were no gas customers at the station when the canopy collapsed around 8:45 this morning.

The store was open at the time of the collapse and police were unsure of the total damage but said the Salem Fire Department and state police responded.

The store is closed.
