Stonington - The Board of Finance will hear an appeal to keep $43,000 in its budget for 49 families who need transportation for their children who attend out-of-town magnet schools, but not at its regularly scheduled meeting.

The board's regular meeting would have fallen on the 4th of July; as a result members postponed hearing the appeal until July 11.

The board is having a special meeting tonight, but will not discuss any items related to the transportation issue.
