You think drive-ins have gone the way of the poodle skirt and the tailfin? Well, not in Mystic - not any more.
Sea Research Foundation's Mystic Aquarium is reviving the happy moviegoing tradition by turning its gravel parking lot into an old-fashioned drive-in, with the debut screening happening tonight.
It'll erect a 40-foot screen for a summer-long series of marine-themed films.
The first flick being given the drive-in treatment is, naturally, "Titanic." After all, the aquarium just opened the exhibit "Titanic - 12,450 Feet Below" in April.
The sound will come through the car radio, and visitors can buy movie concessions like popcorn, hot dogs, soda and ice cream.
The rest of the schedule for the Summer Drive-in Movie Series has yet to be announced.
