Allowing gay Scout leaders could be tragic

I totally disagree with your June 8 editorial, "Scouts must change its policy on gays," referring to the Boy Scouts of America as "archaic and discriminatory," because they won't allow gay Scout leaders to lead their young boys and teens.
Allowing homosexuals to be Scout leaders is inviting temptation for some of those leaders, and the possible sexual manipulation of young boys, causing harm and disorientation for the rest of their lives. It has happened in our own area.
I am not homophobic, but rather I am a concerned mother and grandmother who thinks precaution is better than heartache and therapy, abiding by the medical profession's motto: "First, do no harm."
