• East Lyme senior Andy King finished off a sparkling career with his second ECC singles title. He also won the event as a sophomore. King beat teammate Suryansh Patel 6-3, 6-3 in the final after losing to Griswold's Brandon Roode in the 2011 final. He beat Roode for the title in 2010. King was undefeated during the regular season and advanced to the third round of this season's Class L state tournament. East Lyme only had one loss during his four-year career. The UConn-bound King is a National Merit Scholarship finalist and was an honor student for four years.
• East Lyme freshman Suryansh Patel burst on the scene, reaching the ECC singles final before losing to teammate Andy King 6-3, 6-3. Patel also advanced to the third round of the Class L state tournament before losing to No. 3 Jack Meyer of Fairfield Ludlowe.
• Norwich Free Academy senior J.P. Precourt was 11-2 this season. He was the No. 2 seed in the ECC tournament and advanced to the semifinals before losing to Suryansh Patel of East Lyme, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Precourt won the ECC sportsmanship award and also played soccer for the Wildcats. He plans to attend the University of New Haven and study criminal justice and law enforcement.
• Ledyard sophomore Eric Sun went 14-2 during the regular season. Seeded fourth, he advanced to the ECC semifinals before losing 6-3, 6-1 to eventual champion Andy King of East Lyme. He also advanced to the third round of the Class M state tournament. An honor student, Sun hopes to attend either the Massachusetts Institute of Technology or the Rochester Institute of Technology in the future.
• East Lyme's David Beaulieu and Gowtham Yenduri were the No. 3 seed in the ECC tournament and advanced to the doubles quarterfinals before losing to Chris Lowry and Greg Meade of Woodstock Academy 6-4, 6-4. Beaulieu and Yenduri advanced to the third round of the Class L state tournament. Beaulieu will attend UConn in the fall. His mother Laurie Privett, who coaches the East Lyme girls' team, won the ECC singles crown in 1981 while playing at East Lyme. Yenduri is a senior.
• Old Lyme's Dan Koenigs and Dustin Sibley helped lead the Wildcats to the Shoreline Conference title. The duo went 13-2 during the regular season and advanced to the third round of the Class S state tournament. Koenigs, a senior, was a co-captain along with Morgan White and won the team's coach's award. Koenigs is an honor student who plans to attend the University of Rhode Island. Sibley is also a senior.
• Waterford juniors Tucker Murphy and Brett Pias were seeded No. 1 in the ECC tournament and didn't disappoint, winning the title without losing a set. The team went undefeated in the regular season and helped lead the Lancers to the ECC Medium Division title. They beat Chris Lowry and Greg Meade of Woodstock Academy in the final, 6-4, 6-2. Lowry and Meade returned the favor in the third round of the Class M state tournament, winning 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (1). Both players are honor students.
