Narragansett Beer announces the release of a limited-edition baseball-themed "Grand Slam" can to celebrate the summer season
Inspired by the brand's long-time connections to the sport, the ballpark imagery will be featured on all 16-oz. Tallboy cans of 'Gansett Lager, available while supplies last.
The brand's ties to baseball date back to 1944, when Narragansett became the first-ever beer brand to sponsor a professional sports team, partnering first with the Boston Braves and later the Boston Red Sox. Sports announcer Curt Gowdy kicked off the broadcast of 1,175 Red Sox home games with the infamous line, "Hi, neighbor! Have a 'Gansett!"
