New London police investigate early morning shooting

New London — Police are investigating an apparent shooting that happened early this morning.

Police said at 3:38 a.m. they responded in the area of 57 Ocean Ave. for a report of a shooting victim.

When police arrived, they said the victim, 30-year Ramel General was suffering from injuries consistent with gunshots wounds.

Family members took General to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital prior to the ambulance arriving at the scene.

General was treated and released from the hospital.

Detectives are trying to determine the actual location of the shooting assault.
