Firefighters' attacks on councilor unfair

I want to acknowledge Marie Friess-McSparran for standing up for me as a taxpayer.

I know Marie supports the city firefighters; I know she supports the city taxpayers. The decision to vote no for the firefighter's contract was tough on Marie. She had to think about the long term financial needs of the city, the wants of the firefighters and balance doing the right thing for all of us.

I read the statement from her campaign about the firefighters retirement plans I do not think that she lied at all. Marie would like to see the firefighters get what they want. She had questions and the answers were not given.

If we want more city councilors that will just blindly follow the mayor we should not have elected Marie. But we want city councilors who will ask the hard questions and not settle until all questions are answered and the taxpayers are protected.

The firefighter's union president and all the other people that have attacked Marie and called her a liar need to publicly apologize. Marie has been a friend and supporter of the firefighters and what was said about her was disrespectful.
