Man struck and killed by train in Plainfield

Plainfield (AP) — A man has been struck and killed by a freight train in Plainfield. Police say the incident happened just after 1 a.m. Thursday near Depot and Moosup Pond roads. WFSB-TV reports police received a call from the Providence & Worcester Railroad dispatch center saying the man was lying on the railroad tracks. Police have not yet identified the body, but say it is that of a white male.
