Waterford 15s win Babe Ruth state championship

Simsbury - Adam Goss pitched a six-hitter, doubled twice and scored a pair of runs as Waterford captured the Connecticut Babe Ruth 15-year-old baseball championship on Monday with a 7-4 victory over Simsbury at Memorial Park.

Waterford finished unbeaten in the double-elimination tournament and advances to the New England tournament starting Aug. 2 in Quincy, Mass.

Connor Lewis added two hits, including an RBI double, for the District 6 champions while Kyle Chung and Jesse Coates each had two-run singles.
