With the Aug. 14 statewide primary just a month away it is time to remind unaffiliated voters that they still have time to register with a party so that they may exercise their right to cast a ballot for the candidate(s) of their choice.

Independent or unaffiliated voters still have time to go to the town hall in their respective towns and register as either a Democrat or Republican, giving them the right to vote on Aug. 14.

Hours of voting that day will be as usual 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots will also be available but you must register with a party in order to exercise this option.

Voting is your right, so take advantage of this right and become affiliated with either the Democrat or Republican parties and plan to cast a primary vote in person or by absentee ballot.
