Physician facing more sexual assault charges

Clinton — A former physician at the Community Health Center already facing numerous sexual assault charges turned himself in to police Sunday to face additional charges.

Police said Dr. Tory Westbrook, 43, of Glastonbury, faces an additional 24 counts of sexual assault in the fourth degree, one count of sexual assault in the second degree, and one count of illegally prescribing a narcotic.

According to Clinton police, a five-month investigation with the assistance of the Chief State's Attorney Office in Middletown, the Chief State's Attorney's Medicaid Fraud Unit and the state departments of public health and consumer protection yielded enough evidence to secure warrants for Westbrook.

Westbrook posted a $1.1 million bond and will appear in Middletown Superior Court today.
