Send off planned for the 248th Engineer Company of Norwich

Hartford — A send-off ceremony will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday at the William A. O'Neill Armory for the 120 soldiers of the 248th Engineer Company of Norwich.

The 248th Engineer Company will mobilize and deploy to Bahrain and provide security and installation protection duties within the country.

Another 140 soldiers of the 143rd Military Police Company of West Hartford will also participate in the ceremony. They will be sent to Afghanistan to work alongside the Afghan Uniformed Police.
