UPDATED: Accident cleared on Water Street

New London — Water Street at the intersection of Governor Winthrop Boulevard is now open to traffic after a three-car accident blocked the roadway.

Two cars and a tractor trailer were involved in the collision. One occupant from each car was taken to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

Police also stopped through traffic on Bank and State streets to help ease congestion on Water Street.

Some cars on Water Street were seen taking Atlantic Avenue, the one way street, because of the back up.
