50th Annual Ocean Beach/John & Jessie Kelley 11.6 Mile Road Race - Saturday, Aug. 4, 9 a.m. (race day registration begins at 8 a.m.). Race starts and finishes at Ocean Beach Park, passes scenic vistas of Long Island Sound before entering the country/rural back roads of Waterford, re-entering New London and back to the beach. There will be awards in the standard age group categories, a team competition, raffle and more. People along the course are asked to provide water hoses for the runners.
