New England fairs are all about tradition, aren't they?
And so it goes with the Stonington Village Fair. It returns Saturday with everything that brings people back each year - the warm atmosphere, the familiar faces, the bountiful activities.
Quaint Wadawanuck Square bustles with events for adults - see what vendors have to offer, poke through the items in the book sale and in the garden club sale. The children, too, have plenty to do - entertainment, games and rides, with "Animal Safari Rides" on battery-operated animals.
Food by local restaurants from Yellow House to Milagro will be for sale, which should, naturally, appeal to both older and younger sets.
The popular Treasures and Trifles collection will be consolidated this year in the Stonington Community Center's Thrift Shop; shuttles will be available to bring people from Wadawanuck square to the ship.
The fair is a fundraiser for the Stonington Community Center.
