Car strikes home in Stonington, minor damage reported

Stonington — Police said a man, who appears to have suffered a medical problem, lost control of his car and bumped into a house early this morning at 223 South Broad St.

The incident occurred at about 6:50 a.m. Police, firefighters and ambulance personnel were on the scene. The man was taken to an area hospital. Police said he did not appear to sustain any injuries from the accident, which woke up the homeowners.

Route 1 remains open as police investigate.

The Ford Taurus sustained very minimal damage as did the house and some landscaping in front of it.
