Submarine School graduates two classes

Groton — Two classes recently graduated from the Naval Submarine School.

Eighty sailors, “Class 12340,” USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN-705), graduated from Basic Enlisted Submarine School July 27.

Fireman Joseph Broadwater was the class honorman. Seaman Ryan Mendiola received the Navy Core Values Award. Machinist’s Mate First Class Billy Pope, the class leader, received the Heritage Award and Seaman Apprentice Christopher Blackstock was meritoriously advanced.

Seaman Apprentice Christopher Davis, Seaman Christian Cruz-Diaz, Seaman Jason Osterhout, Seaman Cody Hales, Seaman Brian Weldon, Seaman Apprentice Cody Kolb, Seaman Recruit Raymond Krewer, Fire Controlman First Class Leon Morris, Seaman Apprentice Matthew MacPherson, Information Technician Systems Second Class Devin Davis, Seaman Apprentice Alex Withrow, Seaman Paul McCormack, Seaman Eric Merrill, Seaman Joseph Haberin Seaman Ryan Dressel, Seaman Apprentice Robert Roberts and Seaman Apprentice Levi Shisler were graduates with distinction.

Thirteen sailors of “Class 12080” graduated from Machinist Mate (Weapons) ‘A’ School on Aug. 3. Machinist’s Mate First Class Michael Durant received the Torpedoman Plaque as class honorman.
