My "Bike Fund" lemonade stand was a success! I felt like I was one of the luckiest 10 year olds in the world. Before the lemonade stand I felt nervous and my tummy was hurting. But people were so nice to me that day; bicyclists, joggers, walkers, drivers, ice cream truck man, children, grandparents, neighbors, family, friends, beach people and what my parents called "anonymous angels."
I love my town!
People came from all over. One nice woman drove from Norwich just to meet me and tell me about when her son's bike was stolen. I can't believe how many nice people are in this world. People came to my house before and after the lemonade stand to support me.
I got my new bike! And I raised more money than the bike was worth. I will be contributing the rest of the money to an organization call Bikes for Kids (bikes-for-kids.net), which is a community of people who help provide bikes to children who can't afford a bike. I know how important my bike is to me so I will pay the rest of the money for others to know the same feeling.
