East Lyme – A rash of thefts from unlocked vehicles over the last three weeks prompted the police to issue a reminder Wednesday that residents should lock their vehicles and secure their valuables.

East Lyme resident state trooper Sgt. Wilfred Blanchette said electronics and money have been stolen from unlocked vehicles during the nighttime over the past three weeks. Any suspicious activity, Blanchette said, should be reported to police.
