The state Department of Consumer Protection announced Friday a national recall for certain bottles of 1800 Tequila that may contain glass particles. Brand owner Agavera Camiches and importer Proximo Spirits say the 1800 Tequila brand's Coconut 1.75 liter, Silver 1.75 liter and Reposado 1.75 liter are affected by the recall.
"The companies announced the voluntary recall after learning of potential damage to the bottles' glass stoppers during transportation and handling," the Consumer Protection department said.
Consumers may call 866-795-8805 or email info@1800tequila.com for more information or to seek a refund. Refunds are expected to be issued in two to four weeks.
