The Noank Historical Society Museum presents an exhibit of works by Noank portrait artist Robert Brackman titled "Brackman and Students."

The Russian-born Brackman taught at the American Art School of New York, the Brooklyn Museum, the Minneapolis Art Museum and summer classes at his studio in Noank.

The 1948 film "Portrait of Jennie" centered on a portrait painted by Brackman. Jennifer Jones, the star of the movie, and her co-star Joseph Cotton traveled to Brackman's studio in Noank to serve as models for the movie poster and the "Jennie" portrait.

The exhibit includes images of both Charles and Ann Lindburg and original works by several of Brackman's students from the area, such as Lois Constantine and Dan Truth.

The Noank Historical Museum is at 17 Sylvan St. in Noank. The museum is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. or by appointment. For more info, visit noankhistoricalsociety.org.
