Call for Taste of Mystic volunteers

"A Taste of Mystic" will take place this year from Friday, Sept. 7, to Sunday, Sept. 9, on Cottrell St. in downtown Mystic. The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers to help with all aspects of the Taste, from ticket sales to bartending. Typical volunteer jobs are bartending, checking IDs, keeping the streets clean, greeter, manning the handicapped parking lot, set up and break down and clean up. More than 200 volunteer shifts are needed. Bartenders and ID checkers must be SMART certified. The Chamber will offer a class on Aug. 23 for those who want to volunteer for a bartending/ ID-checking shift.
