New natural gas bus ready for road trip

Norwich – The Rose City Senior Center will roll out its new natural gas powered, wheelchair accessible mini-bus on Monday for a brief ceremony prior to the vehicle’s inaugural trip to the Thimble Islands.

The ceremony will be held Monday at 7:30 a.m. at the Rose City Senior Center on Mahan Drive. Mayor Peter Nystrom, City Manager Alan Bergren and other city officials will be on hand for the event.

The 16-passenger bus with an additional two wheelchair spots cost $84,373. The bus will be will be used for daily transportation services at the senior center.
