    Tigers toppled 7-6

Lowell, Mass. - The Lowell Spinners scored six runs in the fifth inning to rally past the Connecticut Tigers 7-6 Friday in New York-Penn League action at LeLacheur Park.

Tyler Hanover had two hits and drove in two runs for Connecticut (28-35).

The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning when Jake Stewart walked and eventually scored on a wild pitch. Then Hanover singled to make it 2-0.

Connecticut took advantage of an error to score a run in the third inning to grab a 3-1 lead and added two more runs in the fifth inning.

But the Spinners (31-33) rallied, scoring six runs in the fifth inning to take the lead for good.

Stewart's sacrifice fly accounted for Connecticut's final run in the sixth, cutting the deficit to 7-6.

The Tigers and Spinners play game two of their series tonight in Lowell.
