Film casting local extras

Casting agents for an upcoming Cuba Gooding Jr. film will host an open casting call for paid background actors at the Garde Arts Center on Thursday, Oct. 4. The film is seeking men and women able to portray Africans, and Caucasians who look 18 to 40 years old. Auditions are open to SAG-AFTRA and general public. No experience necessary. The casting call runs from 2 to 6:30 p.m.; Connecticut shooting is underway and will continue into November.

The Garde Arts Center is at 325 State St., New London.
