We may not be Oscar voters ... or Golden Globe voters ... or Sundance voters ... but, darn it, we can decide which movie in the Manhattan Short Film Festival is best.

Here's how it works: The 10 shorts will be screened in 49 countries over the course of a week. Everyone will get a voting card and submit which film they think is best. Votes are forwarded by the theater to Manhattan Short's headquarters. The winner is announced at 10 p.m. Sunday at manhattanshort.com.

You can do the honors when the Garde Arts Center holds its screening on Sunday, marking the fourth consecutive year the Garde has participated.

What will you see? Here are a few samples:

• "'92 Skybox Alonzo Mourning Rookie Card," USA; Brothers sort out their differences in extreme fashion when their father dies.

• "The Elaborate End of Robert Ebb," UK/France; a monster terrorizes a town and induces collective hysteria, with comic results.

• "Where Does the Sea Flow," Russia; a mother comes to grips with a precocious young daughter and the violent circumstances of her birth.
