Sebastian Portillo, a Mexican photographer, works with sensuality as a leitmotif and shows a series of photographs taken at his last artist-in-residence at The Centre d'Art Marnay Art Center in France. Aymar Ccopacattya, Peruvian-Aymara artist, graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and works rescuing ancient techniques of spinning from his Aymaras ancestors processing recycled materials to make them art.

Works by both artists are featured in an exhibition opening with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Expressiones Cultural Center, 84 Bank St., New London. It runs through Nov. 17. Gallery hours are 2-6 p.m. Fri. and 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat. Call (860) 501-9278.
