H.S. football: Parke, New London run past Plainfield

Parke and Barber lead NL past Plainfield, 41-0

Plainfield — Orin Parke ran 22 times for 114 yards and two touchdowns as New London High School beat Plainfield Friday, 41-0, in a non-league game.

The Whalers improved to 5-1.

Ackee Barber completed 18 of 33 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns. He threw a 36-yard touchdown to Jose Garcia and a 50-yard touchdown to Caleb Camacho.

Rakim Seales scored on a 32-yard run for and A.J. Dillon ran for a 32-yard touchdown.

Parke scored on runs of 5 and 12 yards to give New London a 14-0 halftime lead.

The Panthers are 4-2.

In other games:

• Jay Nieuwenhuis had five carries for 82 yards and a touchdown, threw a 37-yard touchdown to Kyle Woodworth, and kicked five extra points to pace Stonington to its 47-0 win over St. Bernard/Norwich Tech in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division.

Divante White scored on runs of 2 and 15 yards for Stonington (5-1, 2-0) and Harry Calmar ran for a 75-yard touchdown.

Matt Mitchell (6 yards) and Austin Myers (21 yards) also ran for touchdowns.

The Saints are 0-5, 0-3.

• Chevy Perry and Joseph Carter both ran for two touchdowns as Ledyard downed East Lyme, 48-7.

The Colonels (4-2) scored 34 points in the second quarter.

Perry scored on runs of 6 and 7 yards as the Colonels took a 14-0, first-quarter lead.

Carter scored on back-to-back runs of 3 and 56 yards to push Ledyard's edge to 28-0.

Kyle Perry scored on a 12-yard fumble return, and John Rainey threw a 34-yard touchdown to Jordan Kowalski.

Darnay Gray's 8-yard touchdown was the final one of the night for the Colonels. Christian Alvis added six extra points

Ben Watts ran for a 3-yard touchdown for the Vikings (0-6).

• The Fitch-Griswold game in Groton was postponed. It will be played today, with kickoff moving back from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
